FINAL FANTASY VII: THE VIDEO GAME

Final fantasy VII is a console and computer role-playing game developed and published by Square Enix. It is the seventh installment in the Final Fantasy video game series. It was released I in 1997 and is the first numbered Final Fantasy game for the Sony PlayStation video game console and Microsoft Windows-based personal computers. It is also the first that uses 3D computer graphics featuring fully rendered characters on pre-rendered backgrounds;

The game’s story centers in a group of adventurers as they battle a powerful mega corporation called “Shinra”, which drains the life of the planet to use it as an energy source. As the story progresses, conflicts escalate and the world’s safety becomes a major concern.

In Final Fantasy X-2, a member of the Gullwings named “Shinra” proposes the concept of extracting the life energy from within the planet “Spira”. It is stated that the character Shinra and his proposal are a deliberate nod to the Shinra Company of Final Fantasy VII.

Demography

The Ancients were a nomadic people that used to call themselves the “Cetra”. They were the first human inhabitants on the planet. Their purpose in life was to seek out and find the Promised Land and respect the Planet. Therefore, they cultivated the Planet’s life energy, fought and defeated the alien Jenova. Some of the Ancients decided to abandon their close relationship with the Planet and became the ancestors of modern day humans. Aerith Gainsborough was the last Ancient (by her mother’s side).

Weapon

In the "Compilation of Final Fantasy VII", there are 7 WEAPON. These entities were created by the Planet as self-defense mechanisms to deal with the threat of Jenova, with the exception of Omega, whose purpose is evacuation. But once Jenova was contained by the Cetra, the Weapon were no longer needed and entered hibernation beneath the ice at theNorthern Crater. Five years later, when Meteor is summoned by Sephiroth, the other fighting Weapon are activated to fulfill the reason of their existence: protect the Planet by targeting every potential threat and “reduce everything to nithingness”. Unfortunately, other that Sephiroth, who created the barrier on the Northern Cave to keep the Weapon away from him, the monsters saw humans as an equal danger and began attacking the whole manking.
Jade Weapon is the first to be activated, as the results of Final Fantas VII: Before Crisis. The final one was Omega Weapon that awakened three years after the destruction of Meteor. It’s supposed to serve as an “ark” fore the Planet’s life, absorbing all its Lifestream and setting off to space to avoid a huge calamity.
